Stories of Ogres, Wolves and Witches

Wolves, ogres and witches, protagonists of many scary stories, but also of many funny stories, because what happens if a witch wants to become friends with a child? And what if an ogre has to go on a diet and become a vegetarian? And again: if a wolf finds himself in front of a terrible Little Red Riding Hood, what happens? It happens that those who listen to the stories instead of being afraid will have a lot of crazy laughs. In fact, Pino Costalunga will read, making them relive in front of the eyes of the spectators, classic and non-classic fairy tales, where the bad ones become ridiculous, a little more human and a little less evil and where humans sometimes become … really mean.

    Age: from 3 years

Once upon a time there was an island

An artistic reading, to celebrate twenty years since the death of Pino Sbalchiero, and thirty from the last publication of his masterpiece book ” C’era Una Volta un’Isola – Storie della Pellagra ed altri racconti”. The other Pino, Pino Costalunga , who was the companion of “artistic raids” of the “island” writer in his last years and always present and attentive interpreter of his stories, has decided to present himself to the public with a new reading-rereading of Sbalchiero’s wonderful stories.

Isola (which is Isola Vicentina and is the scene of the stories, together with the neighbouring places) becomes a magical place, a place of memory. It is a metaphor of a Veneto that perhaps no longer exists, disappeared like the Stella Boara of the story, which from dawn accompanied the farmer in his hard day made of sweat, fatigue, but also of simple joy and faith in a better future .

Therefore, the work of Pino and his fellow musicians – for years focused on the study of the popular and literary traditions of our Venetian area – wants to remember the star Pino Sbalchiero. Through his story, the memory of Sbalchiero will be kept alive, who was not and is certainly one of the most important and interesting Venetian authors of the 20th century and should not be forgotten!

Italian sneers … of the author

It is a reading of various important authors, including the Venetian and never sufficiently appreciated Dino Buzzati with his story “Il corridoio del grande albergo”, followed by two stories by Italo Calvino (two adventures of Marcovaldo) to continue with a story by Stefano Benni, a chapter by Luigi Meneghello and a story by Vitaliano Trevisan, as well as some pages by Paolo Nori… to finish off with a hilarious and very rhythmic reading of Ur Malo from Pomo Pero by Meneghello. The theme of the stories is that of the surreal and the comic, better than … sneer … sneer of the author, in fact: they are all stories with a grotesque and funny atmosphere. In which we laugh, often a lot, but where the author’s search for laughter is always very intelligent, often cynical and evil.

Reading by Pino Costalunga from pages from Benni ,Buzzati, Calvino, Meneghello, Trevisan, Nori.

    The lucky devil

Is luck a gift that is given to us or is it something that is created with a lot of effort and willpower? This is the question of the two strange friends who want to tell this story.

And the story speaks precisely of this: of a boy who, despite being a child ended up in a well where he will find a strange old woman who will invest him with eternal fortune, will have to find, growing up, the strength and courage to overcome the thousand obstacles that arise. parano in front.
A King envious of the boy’s luck and worried about losing the crown, will try in every way to get rid of him, sending him to hell to tear three golden hairs from the head of the Devil himself, just to get rid of him.
The boy on the street will meet brigands, queens, strange old ladies, sphinxes with complex riddles and even an unhappy old rower and will come to discover that the Devil also has a grandmother (and what a grandmother)!
It will be a journey full of courage, twists and turns to the last rhyme.

Will our hero be able to return safe and sound from the hellish journey concocted by the evil King John?

Is it really true that luck favors the bold?
